qtVlm is a navigation software designed for sailing boats. The application offers a free version with fundamental features, along with a comprehensive full version accessible through in-app purchase.
The free edition of qtVlm functions as a complete grib viewer, supporting various grib types and advanced grib capabilities. It provides basic charts, simple instruments, an Anchor Alarm module, a shapefiles viewer (e.g., SHOM files), and the flexibility to receive boat position data from internal GPS or an external NMEA source via tcp, udp, or gpsd connections.
The full version enhances the user experience by introducing additional functions and features:
- Weather routing and route modules,
- A complete array of navigation instruments,
- Chart modules for Raster charts, Vector charts (S57, S63, and CM93), and mbtiles,
- Support for Harmonic files (tides and currents),
- Iridium GO! communication,
- AIS integration,
- Start line mode,
- Access to Great Circle gribs.
Furthermore, qtVlm offers a Simulation Mode allowing users to simulate navigation experiences through their server, providing an excellent learning opportunity for utilizing qtVlm effectively.
Upon activation, the full version is accessible across all your iOS devices.
